Silly Caitlyn

After surviving the summer without central air, I am beyond thrilled for the crisp feeling of fall in the air.Caitlyn, however, is not celebrating quite as much. She seemed to respond by adapting to the hundred degree temperatures and becoming even more cool natured than she already was.
This was her reaction to the slight chill in the air the other morning - sweatpants, not only to wear, but to pull over her feet as she did school work.
I couldn't help but laugh.  And photograph :).

Soccer Saturdays

Yesterday was another soccer Saturday for us. I am really enjoying watching the games this season.  Keegan is on a team with a bunch of girls she really enjoys.

Plus, for the most part the games have not conflicted with other activities (like Nutcracker rehearsals) - no small thing with our busy schedules. That means we have all gotten to attend most of the games, Yay!
(Sneaking in a pic from a different game.)
Their win-loss record isn't be perfect, but their attitudes and camaraderie nearly are and that is a lot more important!
Here are several of the girls, ready for a blitz.

This week the refs were short one official and look who volunteered....

Go, Keegan (#27), hurry, HURRY!

The line judge makes a call.
She was very fair and serious, but I couldn't help thinking she was awfully cute, too!

Love this of Keegan (and Kelsey, too :). She can give that ball a serious kick!
Love this season, love how my girl loves this sport :D!

What does this
broken CD have to do with this
smiling face?

Well, the short answer is this.

The longer answer is this - For several weeks now, Kelsey has been taking, and thoroughly enjoying, archery classes.

Each week, she and 8 or 10 other kids practice target shooting.

Toward the end of class they shoot at something special -  a balloon, a swinging jug of water, or, rather frequently, a cd.
This week, for the first time, Kelsey hit and busted her CD.  Bullseye!  Yea, Kelse!

You rock.

Caitlyn and Kelsey Quote

Kelsey, "How many people were there?" [at a meeting Caitlyn attended]
Caitlyn, "About as many as you would expect."
Kelsey, "I'm not really sure how many I would expect."

Hee, hee

Random Kelsey

Just some random shots of Kelsey being Kelsey

At Keegan's soccer game

Deciding she did not want her picture taken, at home and fishing.  Haha.

Loving on the Mittens Kitten
Piggy-backing Brooklin in the pool this summer - what a fun cousin she is :).

She sleeps like this fairly regularly - with one leg standing on the floor. I used to put her back in bed, but have given up since she never falls out and gets back in the exact same position after I move her!

Hanging streamers for Brooklin to play in

Coming home from VBS with stickers!
She makes us laugh, she makes us smile.  We've got to love that Kelsey Rose!

Kelsey Quote

Kelsey has such a way with words.  She always seems to make us smile with the way she expresses herself.
Recently, after leaving a pizza buffet, she observed, "The disappointing thing about stomachs is that they don't let you eat as much as you want."

Perking up the rooms

There are still many, many things on the to-do list at our relatively new house.  in fact, it could possibly be called a to-do mini-novel! I am not a handyman.  Or a handywoman.  Or a handy anything!
So if I pick up a tool and use it successfully, I am proud.
Keegan chose this curtain rod (and the curtains, of course :).

I, yes I, used a drill and a screwdriver AND a studfinder to hang these curtain rods and curtains for Keegan and Kelsey.

Ok, the curtain part wasn't really that hard, but the drilling and stuff? Blech. Hanging curtain rods was something the handyman was supposed to do before he disappeared. Thankfully, I had my three trusty helpers who were always willing to pick up a dropped screw (we won't mention how many times that happened!) or go retrieve a different screwdriver, or any of those many things that would have had me climbing on and off of the stool even more than I did! The upside is that they look really cute :)! And now I know how to hang curtain rods :).

Then we added stickers and dry erase boards - that's more my speed!

Little by little we are getting there. It is fun to see the girls' rooms coming together and see how their different personalities shine!
