Change of the Seasons

Soccer has ended, dance just ended (it is very odd for us to not have dance something to attend,) school is (mostly) finished, and we are ready for summer!
We have central AC, which thrills me. We had no ac since we moved which probably traumatizes me more than if we had no heat!
Some fun news is that a good friend of Caitlyn's is coming to stay with us for six weeks. She has been accepted into a college's medical training program near our house. We're ready for (semi-)daughter number four!
Caitlyn, of course, is bemoaning the end of dance classes and not sure what she will do with her self for two whole weeks before intensive starts.
Keegan is looking for summer soccer and excited to try a program that was recommended to us.
Kelse is pretty chilled, hoping to volunteer at the humane society some this summer.
VBS is coming right up. Caitlyn and Keegan are signed up to help (how did Keegan get that old?!?!) and Kelsey is registered to be there. She has already been to a helper practice, though, so she has a head start on learning the songs :).

Keegan and Kelsey both had significant haircuts. Keegan's hair is over a foot shorter and Kelsey now has bangs.
A trip to Washington is in the works (Thank you, GEICO!)
We are still missing our moved away friends and Brooklin, but have gotten to have fun visits with each.
We are now at lunch break for the filming of the movie in which the girls are extras. Except we already ate our lunch :).
Dance pictures coming soon!

Soccer

Wow. The soccer season has come and gone without me taking a single picture. Caitlyn and I coached Keegan and Kelsey this year, so during games I was busy yelling, screaming, and cheering even more than usual, which left no time for picture taking.
Both Kelsey and Keegan had a great season. They played hard, gave 100%, and improved throughout the season. Kelsey practiced playing goalie even out of practice and it showed during games. She also became much more proactive about going after the ball and challenging the other team. She played offense, defense, and goalie.

Keegan used her long legs to speed all over the field as midfielder. She would zoom down and help the defense, then zoom up the field and help the offense. (Also, Keegan has also put her picture up on her wall. Things tend to fall down off her wall with annoying regularity, which is why her picture is in its little oval :).)

While initially a bit terrified about coaching, I ended up having a lot of fun. We had a great bunch of talented kids, I read A LOT of books and soccer websites, and Caitlyn and I spent a lot of time discussing line ups and strategy. Saturday, they ended up winning the championship. I was so proud and happy for them. A great end to a fun season.

Another typical sight

Caitlyn and Kelsey were having a snack when much giggling ensued. This was the sight I saw when I peeked in.
Evidently Caitlyn decided she would use Kelsey as a prop to stretch as she ate. Then when she finished, Kelsey held on to her leg and wouldn't let go. It's always interesting :).

Easter Eggs

Backing up a bit, here is a cute Easter craft we learned about on Pinterest.  (How did we ever do crafts before Pinterest?)
We made these eggs by dipping thin yarn in stiffener, wrapping balloons, cutting openings, then decorating and filling them. They were so cute!

We gave all the eggs to adults, except for this one, Brooklin's egg.

Happy belated Easter to you!

Invitations

Not long ago, Caitlyn and Kelsey both received these...

Keegan has a way of making me smile :).

Bye bye to Brooklin

Well, life has a way of moving on, and now it has. Our sweet little great-niece/cousin, Brooklin, whom we got to enjoy one day each week, has moved away.

We are proud of her daddy for getting a promotion, but awfully sad to have their family over three hours away :(.
Reading some favorite books the final day we got to keep her. She's a fan of Sandra Boynton :).

We're thankful for the fun we've had with Brooklin and glad that we've gotten to know her so much better over the last year+.

We're looking forward to visits and hope that they are very happy in their new home.
But it's still hard to say good-bye.
