These individually molded little mints are definitely a labor of love :). My mom made them when I was growing up and I loved them. Now my girls do, too.
We started around noon, then had a little added fun when we discovered that our food coloring had turned
We were determined to make a quick trip. Unfortunately, life intervened. Earth Fare was OUT of food coloring. Boo. Hiss. That did not fit into my plan. After buying some groceries anyway, off we went to drive to the other Earth Fare. By this time, however, it was past lunch time so we decided to stop for pizza along the way. The pizza place was closed, so we stopped for pasta instead. The pasta place was yum, but awfully, awfully s l o w.
As we were eating our very s l o w lunch, we received a call from Caitlyn's dance studio saying that her class had been moved up an hour. Hmmmmm. The dance studio is not close to the house and by now we were already about halfway there. But Caitlyn had not brought her dance bag since we were only making a quick trip out for food coloring.
Soooooo, we drove to the second Earth Fare, bought natural food coloring and a few more groceries, then off we went to the nearby dance store to pick up some essentials for class. Then over to the ballet studio for Caitlyn's class. Keegan, Kelsey, and I found some marked down soccer cleats while Caitlyn was dancing.
By now, it was supper time, so, on the way home we split a box of chicken nuggets from the drive-thru. Seven hours and a hundred dollars later, we arrived home to complete our mints.
I hope they look awfully good ;)!
